September 2024 Update
The project team is identifying and prioritizing segments within the project area for sidewalk widening and street tree planting. The team is also reviewing existing utility conflicts and coordinating closely with the 82nd Avenue Transit Project.
Project overview
As part of this project, PBOT will fill in sidewalk gaps and widen existing sidewalks on 82nd Avenue in select locations between SE Foster Road and SE Clatsop Street.
As part of the new sidewalk, PBOT will plant trees in the furnishing zone, between where pedestrians walk and roll and moving vehicles in the road.
PBOT will deliver this project in partnership with the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) and Urban Forestry. In consultation with Urban Forestry, the project will prioritize planting large tree species to maximize shade potential.
