What's happening now?
We have moved from planning to design. PBOT completed survey for both locations and has begun work on design. Construction is currently expected to occur in late 2022 or 2023.
Project background
122nd Avenue is identified as a High Crash Corridor on Vision Zero's High Crash Corridor network. This project is part of a larger effort by the Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) to increase safety for all, improve pedestrian and bicycle access and support better transit while balancing needs of freight and other modes on SE 122nd Avenue.
This project will be constructing signalized pedestrian crossings to the north of NE Davis Street and at a location north of SE Clinton Street on 122nd Avenue. The possibility of constructing a median island at both these traffic signals is currently being assessed as well.
Project funding
This project is funded by Fixing our Streets. The budget is $3.3 million dollars.
