Project Scope

The project primarily consists of traffic signal installations at the following locations:

  • SE Sandy at 11th and Ankeny
  • SE Grand at Salmon
  • SE MLK at Salmon

Striping and signage changes will also be implemented at SE Stark at MLK and at Grand as part of the project.

At each of the above intersections, accessible curb ramps will be installed alongside high visibility pedestrian crossings and bicycle connections to existing bike routes. The new traffic signals on SE Salmon at MLK / Grand and SE Sandy at 11th / Ankeny will result in circulation changes. Vehicular access will be maintained but access will change as some approaches to these intersections will be made one-way only. You can review the circulation changes for the on SE Salmon and SE Sandy at 11th and Ankeny in the diagrams below.

(NoteThe following documents have maps and information that may not work with a screen reader. While we work toward providing that level of accessibility, please contact PBOT Project Manager Gabe Graff at Gabriel.Graff@portlandoregon.gov for assistance with providing access to the information in the plan. You can also contact PBOT’s ADA Coordinator at Lisa.Strader@portlandoregon.gov or at 503-823-5703. Thank you for your patience and understanding.)

Note that due to dramatic construction and material cost increases, the intersection improvements that were originally planned at SE Grand and Washington and NE 16th and Irving as part of this project have been postponed.
