This page contains the terms and conditions for Area Parking Permit permits. By applying for and receiving approval for a parking permit users must agree to the terms and conditions.

Area Parking Permit Virtual Permit Terms and Conditions

By applying for and receiving approval for a virtual parking permit within this system I agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

  • The virtual permit does not convey any privileges other than that of exceeding the posted permit zone visitor time limit. It does not authorize parking in any other restricted zone.
  • The virtual permit does not exempt or waive any other provisions of any City Code, Ordinance or the City Charter. Please review Public Right-of-Way Parking, City Code Chapter 16.20 rules and regulations.
  • A parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. Permits allow users to park on street past the posted visitor time limit in their respective zone. Parking permits do not guarantee parking in a specific spot. A temporary construction permit may be issued that could limit available spaces. Please check current known reservations.  
  • All the information that I provide and any supplemental information I provide is true and correct.
  • I authorize the parking permit program administrator to verify any information contained herein.
  • Daily permits are to be utilized by my guest(s) during periods when they are visiting my residence.
  • The license plate number must be visibly displayed on the vehicle.
  • The permit holder is responsible for all improper use of any assigned permit unless previously reported as lost or stolen. If verified misuse, the permit may be revoked, and the permit holder may be responsible for violation fines.
  • If I move out of a zone, I am no longer eligible for a parking permit and agree to cancel my permit within the online system.
  • If I move within my permitted zone, I agree to notify the parking permit office via PBOT CHAT or PBOTParkingPermits@portlandoregon.gov within 3 days, to transfer my current resident permit to my new address.

The Content, Conduct, and Penalties sections are in accordance with the City of Portland Security Administration Rule BTS 2.01: authorized users are accountable for their actions in use of City Technology Resources and information and may be held liable to administrative or criminal sanctions for any unauthorized actions found to be intentional, malicious or negligent.

Content

You, and not PBOT, are solely responsible for any content you upload, post, email, transmit, store or otherwise make available through your use of the service. You may not share, upload, or otherwise make available, whether in electronic or tangible print form, or make comments on files that have been shared with you through the Services (a) that are or that contain defamatory, threatening, abusive, pornographic, or otherwise objectionable material, (b) that advocate bigotry, hatred, or illegal discrimination, or (c) that violates any law, any intellectual property, publicity, privacy, or other right of others, or any license or other agreement by which you are bound. You are responsible for anything you upload.

Conduct

You agree that you will not use the service to: a. upload, post, email, transmit, store, share, import or otherwise make available any content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, harmful, tortious, defamatory, libelous, abusive, violent, obscene, vulgar, invasive of another’s privacy, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or otherwise objectionable; b. stalk, harass, threaten or harm another.

Penalties

As outlined in City Code 16.20.860, violations of conduct and content is considered improper use of a permit and will result in cancellation of that permit for a period of 12 months. Further improper use within a 24-month period will additionally render the permit holder disqualified from purchasing any Area Parking Program Permit for two subsequent permit years.  

Privacy Statement

The required personal data on this site is intended to make the most of the services offered on this site. This data is kept confidential and is intended solely for use by the City of Portland Parking Operations and its contractors for the purpose of generating a permit and permit services. 

The City of Portland, Bureau of Transportation will use limited personal data to enforce permits. This includes a public web application that allows community members to enter a license plate number and receive a result about Area Parking Permit status for a specific vehicle. No other personal data will be shared, only whether an Area Parking Permit is active or not for a specific license plate number.  

You have the right to access, modify and delete the data at any time, however it may affect the ability to maintaining an active permit. Please contact us for questions on data edits by using the "contact us" page on the internet site or pbotparkingpermits@portlandoregon.gov.  

Fees and Charges

All fees and charges are non-refundable. Permit fees are subject to change annually.

Vehicles without proper display and authorization of a permit are subject to citation by the City of Portland Parking Enforcement.
