(July 27, 2026) The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) advises the traveling public that the southbound travel lanes on North Interstate Avenue will be closed between North Tillamook and Russell streets on Friday, July 31 for structural repairs.
Following heavy rains last winter, the structural base under the roadway was eroded and the travel lane was temporarily closed. Crews will repair the underlying structure and repave the roadway to make it safe again for travel. The closure is expected to last from approximately 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The traveling public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Sidewalks will remain open at all times for pedestrians.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
