As you may know, we held four public open houses, one in each district, in February and March. We presented the feedback from those open houses to the City Council Transportation and Infrastructure Committee on March 9. You can watch the recording of that meeting on YouTube and view the presentation slides. Find these links and background information about the project on our website.
Next steps
Based on committee feedback, staff are developing an ordinance and resolution to be considered by the new Finance & Governance (Committee of the Whole) on April 2, 2026. These documents would create a new Transportation Utility Fee and affirm Council support for a new Street Damage Restoration Fee. If the committee decides to move forward at that time, the final ordinance and resolution could come to Council the following week.
Opportunity to testify
If the ordinance and resolution are confirmed on the agenda for the Committee of the Whole on April 2, the testimony window will open the Friday before (March 27), when the meeting agenda and the final resolution and ordinance are posted. We will send a reminder email to this list with the testimony information on Tuesday, March 31, but you can also keep an eye on the Council website yourself if you want to get an earlier start.
If you're interested in testifying, keep in mind:
- Written testimony can be submitted through an online form.
- Registration for virtual testimony closes one hour before the meeting begins.
- In-person testifiers must sign up before the agenda item is heard.
