The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is now accepting applications to serve a four-year term on the Fixing Our Streets (FOS) Oversight Committee. The application will be open until Sunday, July 28.

The Fixing Our Streets Oversight Committee plays an important role in ensuring the accountability of the transportation safety and maintenance program funded with 10-cent gas tax approved by voters in May 2016, 2020, and renewed in 2024. The program helps PBOT expand preventive street maintenance that saves money and prevents potholes. It also supports more safe access, sidewalks, traffic signals, streetlights, and bike lanes. The list of projects, construction schedule, and line-by-line budget for the FOS projects are overseen by both PBOT project managers and this appointed oversight body.

If you are interested in volunteering on the FOS Oversight Committee, review the committee volunteer (non-paid) position description and complete the application form. The FOS Oversight Committee membership is intended to represent a cross-section of diverse expertise, skill sets, and background within the transportation community. Members will be appointed based on the committee’s membership needs.
