(April 29, 2021) Paving work begins this Monday, May 3, on SE Division Street between 130th and 148th avenues, in coordination with TriMet’s Division Transit Project and in preparation for the Portland Bureau of Transportation’s (PBOT) upcoming Outer Division Multimodal Safety Project. The work is expected to last approximately four weeks, with work occurring between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, with some weekend work.
Travelers through the area should expect rough road conditions, intermittent lane closures, and traffic delays during work hours. Expect dust, noise, vibrations, and heavy equipment on SE Division Street and side streets adjacent to the work area.
Pedestrian access will remain open for the duration of the project. People riding transit should visit trimet.org/#alerts/ for the latest service impacts. People biking will still be able to travel on SE Division Street and should follow signage and direction from flaggers when encountering lane closures. Alternatively, people biking may want to use SE Mill Street as an alternate route.
In total, PBOT crews will grind down and replace two inches of asphalt on 4 lane miles of pavement.
The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. We ask the public to travel slowly and cautiously in our work zones, observe all detours and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.
