(Dec. 6, 2021) On the night of Thursday, Dec. 9 the City of Portland’s contractor Landis & Landis Construction, LLC will be installing stormwater pipes and maintenance holes at SW Multnomah Boulevard and 40th Avenue as part of the SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village – West Portland project. The night work is necessary to reduce disruption to the travelling public

As part of the night work, SW 40th Avenue will be completely closed between SW Multnomah Boulevard and SW Troy Street. SW 40th Ave between Multnomah Blvd and Garden Home Road will be open only to residents and visitors of the Village at Multnomah Village condos during the night work. Flaggers will direct traffic in all directions on SW Multnomah Boulevard at SW 40th Avenue from 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 until 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 10.

We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

The work is part of the SW Capitol Highway: Multnomah Village – West Portland project, which will improve safety and mobility for all modes of travel while improving stormwater management, protecting water quality in local streams, and updating water supply infrastructure to meet modern demands. Portland’s Bureau of Transportation, Bureau of Environmental Services, and Water Bureau are working on the project together to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and enhance service delivery to the Portland community.

Additional information about this project is available online at www.portland.gov/transportation/capitolhwy. This work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.
