(June 2, 2020) – Paving work began Monday, June 1 on SW Terwilliger Boulevard, between SW Capitol Highway and the stairs at SW Bancroft Street, as part of the Portland Bureau of Transportation’s (PBOT) ongoing street maintenance work. The street repairs will continue through June 24, each weekday from 6 a.m. through 3 p.m. and possibly weekends.
In total, PBOT crews will grind down and repave 3.48 lane miles of pavement.
Streets with ground down surfaces are open for travel. Street detours are only in effect during project hours. Access will be maintained for businesses and residents during the project.
The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made. We ask the public to travel slowly and cautiously in our work zones, observe all detours and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.
This work is weather-dependent, and the schedule may change.
Special note regarding COVID-19 and construction work
PBOT has been in modified operations since March 17 and has implemented specific measures to ensure the safety of our crews and contractors. We're focused on delivering critical repairs and maintenance while taking specific steps to keep our workforce safe. These include modified shifts, social distancing, and other precautions based on current guidelines from local, state, and federal health officials. Thank you for giving our crews the space and time they need to keep our city moving.
