(October 26, 2018) The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that street improvements have begun on SE 17th Avenue from St. Andrews Place to SE Clatsop Street and will continue through November 2, 7 a.m. through 4 p.m. each work day and weekend.

The lane closures will allow crews to grind and pave .44 lane miles of pavement.

During construction, southbound traffic on SE 17th Avenue will be detoured at SE Tacoma Street to SE McLoughlin Boulevard. Northbound traffic on SE 17th Avenue will be detoured at SE McBrod Avenue to SE McLoughlin Boulevard.

Streets with ground down surfaces are open for travel. Lane closures are only in effect during project hours. Access for businesses and residents will be maintained during the project. Please communicate with our flaggers in assisting you to your destination.

The traveling public is advised to expect delays while repairs are being made.  We ask the public to travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions by reader boards and flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible.

This work is weather-dependent and the schedule may change.
