(May 2, 2017) The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that surveying for upcoming safety and public transit improvements will require on-street parking to be restricted for a few hours on SE Division on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

On Wednesday May 3, on-street parking will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. in various locations along SE Division from SE 10th Avenue to 82nd Avenue. On Thursday, May 4, on-street parking will be prohibited from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. along SE Division from 82nd Avenue to the city limits, near SE 174th Avenue.

No-parking barricades will be placed along the curb in areas where parking will be restricted. Areas without barricades are not restricted. The barricades will be removed after the work is completed, so the restriction might not last as long as expected.

The effort will save time and money for transportation improvements, by allowing the data to be shared by PBOT and TriMet as the agencies design upcoming projects. Removing parking to scan the street will help reduce the need to close travel lanes or sidewalks for surveying. Engineers making plans for upcoming improvements will use a car-mounted camera to gather comprehensive survey and mapping data of the right-of-way, gathering the precise locations of curbs, sidewalks and storm drains.
