BIKETOWN Website is Live

Bike share program will launch this summer with 1000 bikes

People can sign-up for email updates to track the progress of the program and get early notice when membership sign-ups open

(February 29, 2016) - Following the January announcement of the partnership with Nike to launch BIKETOWN, the Portland Bureau of Transportation and Motivate, the operator of BIKETOWN, announced that BIKETOWNpdx.com, the BIKETOWN website, and social media channels are live.

As another step toward the launch of the bike share system, the BIKETOWN website, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds will provide Portlanders and visitors with important program information about BIKETOWN and an easy way to connect with the new program and follow its progress. People who sign up for program updates via any of the BIKETOWN channels will be the first to know when BIKETOWN memberships go on sale later this year.

The BIKETOWN website also contains information about PBOT’s upcoming open houses where the public is invited to learn more about bike share and weigh in on BIKETOWN's proposed station locations.

Later this year people will be able to sign up for memberships on the BIKETOWN website and the site will also host a real-time map showing the locations of the BIKETOWN bikes and stations once the program launches.
