(October 30, 2015) – The City of Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that Portland Streetcar repairs and signal updates will require the closure of NW Lovejoy Street in both directions between NW 15th Avenue and NW 17th Ave beginning November 2, 2015 at 7 a.m. through November 7, 2015 at 5 p.m. for all hours and all days. NW 16th Avenue will be reduced to one lane during work hours. The public is advised to expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all lane closures and directions, and use alternate routes if possible.
Crews will be doing repairs and signal updates on the Streetcar switch into the yard on Lovejoy at NW 16th Avenue. This is one of the oldest switches remaining in the system.
Thursday, November 5th through Sunday, November 7th, Portland Streetcar North/South (NS) Line will be replaced by a bus shuttle along Lovejoy and Northrup between 11th & NW 23rd Avenues. Transfers to and from the bus shuttle will occur at NW 10th & Northrup. NS Streetcars will serve all stops on the NS Line from NW 10th & Northrup, turning south to NW 11th & Marshall continuing south to the station at SW Lowell & Bond. The Streetcar stop at NW 12th & Northrup will be closed.
