(January 30, 2015) - The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that crane work will close SW Clay Street between SW Naito Parkway and SW First Avenue on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A detour will be in effect during those times. Traffic will be directed north on SW Naito to SW Jefferson to SW First, and back to SW Clay. Motorists headed westbound may also consider turning from SW Naito to SW Taylor. The south sidewalk on SW Clay will remain open during this work for pedestrian and bicycle access.
The closure is necessary for the contractor to use a crane to lift roofing materials at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront Hotel.
The public is advised to travel cautiously in the work zone and to observe detours. Travelers are advised to use alternate routes if possible.
