Low-Income Pricing Plans

As part of the 2019-20 E-Scooter Pilot Program, scooter companies are required to offer discounted pricing for Portlanders living on low incomes. This page contains information about each company’s discounted pricing plan and how to apply.

Bird Community Pricing (black scooters) 

Who qualifies? 
Users who demonstrate eligibility for or participation in any federal, state, or local assistance program; people over age 65; veterans; and select community and non-profit organizations

50% off all rides 

To enroll, download the Bird app, create an account, and then email access@bird.co with your full name, phone number, government issued ID or non-profit EIN (if applicable), and proof of eligibility. Proof of eligibility includes, but is not limited to, SNAP/EBT card, utility bill showing low-income program enrollment, a government-issued ID showing age 65+, Medicaid, TANF, HUD, and WIC. Lime Access (green scooters) 

Who qualifies?
Users who demonstrate eligibility for or participation in any federal, state or local assistance program (for example, SNAP or utility bill discounts) 

Five (5) free 30-minute scooter rides per day. Additional rides are 50% off ($0.50 to unlock and $0.17 per minute).

Additional Discounts
All rides in East Portland are $1.00 to start and $0.15 per minute

Spin (orange scooters)  

Who qualifies?
Users who make less than double the federal poverty level for their household size or are enrolled in one of the following programs:  

     - Oregon Health Plan/Medicaid     
     - SNAP: EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) Card     
     - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)     
     - Free & Reduced Price Lunch     
     - HUD Housing Choice Voucher     
     - LIHEAP (Home Energy Assistance)   
     - Employment Related Day Care     
     - Women Infants and Children (WIC)

Unlock a scooter for $0.50 and ride for $0.07 per minute
