The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) is creating a new administrative rule regarding alley requirements to align with changes being made to the Residential Infill Project (RIP). These changes serve to establish parameters for accessing onsite parking from an unpaved alley located in a single dwelling zone. Creation of this administrative rule and the policies detailed within are being made in partnership with the Bureau of Environmental Services, Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, and other public works bureaus.

The public comment period is open until July 23, 2021. Any comments may be submitted to pbotpolicycomments@portlandoregon.gov and will be reviewed by PBOT staff.
