Finalizing and approval of committee letter providing advice to the city regarding PBOT's ongoing projects supporting bike buses on neighborhood greenways.
SE Hawthorne and Clay Street Off-Ramp (6:30 – 7:00)
This intersection, at which people bicycling proceed straight (east) while people driving turn right (south) has seen multiple iterations of designs to address the inherent conflict. Multnomah County and the Portland Bureau of Transportation are now working on ways to further address this intersection. The County-City team will describe results of a field visit to the site, present options being considered, and seek feedback from the committee.
Northwest Diverter Removal Committee Discussion and Public Comment (7:00 – 8:00)
Portland's Public Environment Management Office (PEMO) has advanced removal of traffic diverters in Northwest Portland as a critical means of addressing crime and related issues consistent with their mission to “swiftly and effectively delivering solutions to livability-related issues in Portland's public spaces by coordinating resources in an efficient manner”. Committee leadership will coordinate a discussion with the intent of developing recommendations to city leadership about how to proceed.
