Since June 1, more than 1,300 Portlanders have participated in a mock election, ranking their favorite ice cream flavors, community events, and even Portland Pickles presidential candidates. As the summer continues, the City’s voter education team looks to create even more opportunities for Portlanders to participate in a mock election, with a goal for every Portlander to take part in at least one mock election before Nov. 5.

Our partners at the Portland Water Bureau join in on the fun with the coolest mock election. Rank the HyroPark you’re most like and we’ll tell you what that means about your personality — it’s like an astrology reading, but better.

With this election, see how a single-winner election (like the contests for the mayor and auditor) will work.

Are you going to Summer Jam and seeing Ice Cube, E-40, MYA, Xzibit, Ginuwine, and The Luniz? We are too (sort of)! We’re teaming up with iHeart Radio to ask Portlanders to rank their favorite albums from these legendary artists and will have a table at the event to answer any questions on ranked-choice voting.

With this mock election, we’ll be seeing how a multi-winner election works. This is the method we’ll use to elect three district councilors in each district. Learn more about multi-winner ranked-choice voting in our updated frequently asked questions section.

Stay tuned for the Summer Jam mock election on our event page at Portland.Gov/Vote/Events.
