Community invited to participate in City Administrator Key Attributes Survey And Listening Session

Portland Building and Portlandia Statue
Attend the first virtual listening session on June 26 to inform the recruitment process for Portland’s next city administrator. Survey closes Aug. 12.

As part of the City of Portland’s new government structure in January 2025, the newly-elected mayor will launch the city administrator recruitment and appointment process. Since this is a new role in our local government, the City is interested to learn what Portlanders expect from their future city administrator.

To help gather input from the community, the City of Portland is partnering with Motus Recruiting, a local executive search firm, to conduct an objective, impartial, and nonpartisan exploration process beginning this month.

Motus is offering Portlanders a choice of two virtual listening sessions or an online survey  to voice their opinions on which key attributes would be most important for the new city administrator. This information will be included in the recruitment plan provided to the mayor, who starts their term on Jan. 1, 2025.
