The Government Transition Advisory Committee and City staff are inviting Portlanders to participate in guiding the creation of recommendations for the 2025 City Council.
Published

As Portland moves forward with implementing the November 2022 voter-approved charter amendments, the Government Transition Advisory Committee (GTAC) and City staff are preparing recommendations to the 2025 City Council to help lay the groundwork for a collaborative and responsive council. They are seeking community input to inform an initial draft of recommendations to be shared for public comment in June. Topics they are seeking feedback on include:

  • Accessing city council members
  • Staying informed about important topics
  • Expectations and hopes for future city council members’ engagement in their district
  • Considerations for future council meetings and council committees including how and when public input is received

How to share your input

You can participate in several ways:

  • Community Listening Sessions:
    • In-Person: March 19, 5:30-7:30 p.m., East Portland Community Center. Registration is encouraged for reminders, onsite childcare, or accommodations. Register here.
    • Virtual: Register for Zoom sessions on March 14 and March 21, both from 5-7 p.m.
    • Note: All sessions provide ASL and Spanish interpretation, with additional languages available upon request.

  • Online Survey:
  • Employee Townhalls will be held for City of Portland staff on March 19 and 21

Can’t make it? You can view the presentation recording and submit feedback through our online survey starting March 8 through April 4.
