The construction of the city council chambers is really taking shape. This week, the large new dais arrived at City Hall. Multiple workers offloaded the preassembled dais from the truck, climbed some stairs, and installed it.
This month, carpet installation is underway, wood panel work continues, window shades installation has been completed, and RACC crews reinstalled the Brophy painting located in the top archway of the ceiling within the chambers.
Meanwhile, the mayor and council office workspace construction continues. This includes painting, finishing ceiling grid work, installing acoustical tiles to isolate sound in an open office floor plan, and installing some new doors.
The council chambers are slated for completion in mid-December 2024. Council offices are slated for completion in early 2025.
