Below are all the ways community members engaged with the Independent District Commission. 


Public meetings

All our meetings are open to the public and hosted on Zoom. Community members have the opportunity to follow along with the Commission's work and join the meetings virtually and engage using the Zoom Q&A feature. Please check out the events section of the website to see past and upcoming meetings and agendas.

Public testimony

The District Commission will take verbal testimony at the District Commission meetings. Community members will have the opportunity to sign-up online ahead of time. If you don't sign up ahead of time and there is time left on the agenda item, testimony will be open to the public.

Written public comments

The District Commission is accepting public comments via a variety of channels. Including through an online public comment form, via email to DistrictCommission@portlandoregon.gov, or via phone by calling 3-1-1. 

Email updates

The District Commission sends monthly email updates to provide community members with transparency in the districting process. You can sign-up for email updates here

Submit your own district map or view maps

The District Commission and our community partners will host various community events and hearings—make sure to check out the events section to see upcoming community events.

DistrictR Trainings

Take a training to lean to use DistrictR, the mapping platform IDC commissioners are using to draw district maps, then draw and submit one of your own! You can find all DistrictR trainings on our events page
