Join Donna as she leads a class in Afro-Cuban Dance.

Cuban dance is known for its undulating movements intricately woven together with its unique interlocking rhythms. Afro-Cuban dance is fun, accessible and complex with an energy that brings us deep into the earth. Come ready to move your hips! Ready to sweat a bit! And ready to learn new fun footwork!

Participants will need:
-Clothes they are comfortable moving in
-Water
-Towel to use for stretches and mobility exercises
-Cans of food/filled beverage bottles/pots or pans/dumbbells to use for resistance exercises

Donna Mation; dancer, choreographer, percussionist, and educator, is the artistic director and choreographer for Bang Bang Boogie and Vivan Los Elementos. Donna specializes in club and street dances from the USA including, Hustle, House, Popping, and Hip Hop as well as sacred and secular dances of Cuba and Brazil. She has danced most of her life and began her career in music and dance in 1999, which has brought her to teach and perform in various places around the world with renowned artists including Rennie Harris Pure Movement, Wyclef Jean, Pink Martini, Black Angel, Bata Ketu, and Jujuba.

As a teacher, Donna is known for her enthusiasm, passion, and respect for the origins of the culture and styles of dances she shares. Her classes are fun, challenging and educational, not just about movement but history as well. Donna encourages and supports her students to connect with the music while embodying movement through story telling and character creation.
