This is information that is uniquely related to the 2022 Elections

In 2022, two City Council seats are up for election: Commissioner #2 and Commissioner #3. The Auditor’s seat is also up for election.

Below are the candidates from the three elections who have filed to run under Small Donor Elections. And included are the candidates who have been certified, meaning that they will receive City Matching Funds, because they have collected at least 250 donations from verified Portland residents and met all other qualifying criteria: Candidates have until January 28, 2022 to apply for certification.

Commissioner #2: Commissioner Dan Ryan filed a Notice of Intent on September 24, 2021. Senator Akasha Lawrence Spence filed a Notice of Intent on November 9, 2021, withdrew it, and then re-filed it on January 3, 2022. Jamila Dozier filed a Notice of Intent on November 11, 2021 and then withdrew it on January 6, 2022. AJ McCreary filed a Notice of Intent on January 7, 2022. Michael Simpson filed a Notice of Intent on January 7, 2022.

Candidates Certified: Commissioner Dan Ryan was certified on December 20, 2021.

Commissioner #3: Rene Gonzalez filed a Notice of Intent on August 31, 2021. Vadim Mozyrsky filed a Notice of Intent on September 29, 2021. Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty filed a Notice of Intent on October 1, 2021. Steven Cox filed a Notice of Intent on December 27, 2021. Peggy Sue Owens filed a Notice of Intent on January 7, 2022.

Candidates Certified: Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty was certified on December 2nd, 2021. Vadim Mozyrsky was certified on December 6th, 2021. Rene Gonzalez was certified on December 16, 2021.

Auditor: Auditor Mary Hull Caballero filed a Notice of Intent on August 6, 2021, but then withdrew it on October 23, 2021. Simone Rede filed a Notice of Intent on December 23, 2021. Brian Setzler filed a Notice of Intent on January 4th, 2022.

But in order to run under Small Donor Elections, candidates must file a Notice of Intent form with our office. The deadline for filing the Notice of Intent is 11:59 pm on January 7th, 2022.
