Along with traditional public safety pieces like the Portland Police Bureau, Portland Fire & Rescue and the Bureau of Emergency Communications, the PSSA also includes the Bureau of Emergency Management, the Office of Violence Prevention and Portland Street Response.
Public Works provides clean drinking water; vibrant parks and recreation; reliable sewer and stormwater management; and keeps our transportation system safe and accessible so people can get where they need to go. We also prepare for the impacts of climate change, with a focus on Portland’s most vulnerable populations.
