Peninsula Crossing Trail Temporary Closure
TEMPORARY TRAIL CLOSURE OF PENINSULA CROSSING TRAIL MAY 22 – JUNE 16, 2023
In order to complete the construction of the Peninsula Crossing Safe Rest Village, as well as make site improvements to other portions of the Peninsula Crossing Trail, the trail will be temporarily closed for four weeks, beginning Monday, May 22nd. The closure will stretch from N. Willamette Blvd to N. Columbia Blvd, to allow for trail work.
During the Peninsula Crossing Trail’s temporary closure, Portland Parks & Recreation’s regional trails team will be removing invasive blackberry, doing pruning work, mulching, and mowing along the trail area. The Bureau’s Urban Forestry Department is removing dead and potentially dangerous trees from along the trail. Other work includes minor trail repairs and cleaning, installing new signage, and sprucing up various trail features.
An alternative bike and pedestrian route is shown on the map linked above and is illustrated on Trail Closure signs at trail intersections.
We regret the inconvenience this trail closure may cause for this short period of time. At the same time, the trail improvements and the opening of the Safe Rest Village will be a benefit to the entire community.
We will share the opening date for this Peninsula Crossing Safe Rest Village soon.
