Funding for Safe Rest Villages

City Council approved $24.9 million in the first tranche of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars to address houselessness ($29.2 million including contingency funds)—the bulk of which is dedicated to Safe Rest Villages, as noted below. Other ARPA funds are supporting other needs related to houselessness. 

This project may receive additional funds in the second tranche of ARPA dollars (with FY22-23 budget). ARPA funds are available through December 31, 2024. 

  • $16,020,000 for Safe Rest Villages
  • $3M for Alternative Shelters/C3PO (Creating Conscious Communities with People Outside)
