While some tax preparation software companies carried our returns as early as 2013, it wasn’t until a comprehensive modernization of our tax administration platform in 2021 that many leading vendors began fully partnering with us to file returns fully electronically in the same way federal and state returns can be filed.

This year, 11 tax software products are carrying our local personal and business income tax returns including TurboTax—the market leader—which is carrying all local personal income tax returns with an electronic filing option. This includes the Arts Tax, Metro Supportive Housing Services and Multnomah County Preschool for All income taxes. Local tax returns can be filed at no additional cost after the Oregon return is filed.
