City Supplier Registration Work Sessions

We are changing the way we do business with our suppliers! Suppliers and City buying staff will experience a new process for registering a business, setting up accounts for supplier payments, and contracting.

Now is the time for suppliers to prepare to do business with the City!

  • All City suppliers must register in SAP Ariba!
  • Beginning March 2026, City of Portland bid opportunities will be posted in the SAP Business Network. 

Are you a supplier who needs assistance registering your business with the City?  Are you a bureau buyer who needs a boost of confidence navigating SAP Ariba supplier registration and finding resources to support suppliers?  We welcome you to attend a Supplier Registration Work Session!

Suppliers who participate will experience an accelerated registration process due to dedicated City resources on site AND receive 1:1 support:

  • Navigating their Ariba supplier experience, building confidence to independently manage their account.
  • Creating an account in the SAP Business Network introduces suppliers to an entire network of sourcing opportunities
  • Completing each step of the business registration process
  • Resolving registration challenges
  • *Basic clerical services: printing and scanning documents required to complete registration process.

City Buying staff who volunteer to support a work session will:

  • Learn to identify common supplier registration challenges suppliers, triage supplier items for on- site resolution
  • Learn of key tips, answers to FAQ's,  and additional resources available to help suppliers navigate doing business with the City.
  • Contribute to a culture of transparency, collaboration, and personal accountability in change execution by supporting collaborations to offer trainings to ensure suppliers are prepared to do business with the City during our transition to the SAP Ariba system.

Suppliers!  You will need to bring the following items with you:  W9 (must be the 2024 version), Voided Check (or Letter from Bank), and Portland Business License Tax Account #,  personal laptop, and/or mobile device equipped to upload required documents.
