Optional pre-application conferences are also available to discuss projects with a lower review process (Type I, II or IIx). You can also schedule an optional conference for projects that don't need a land use review (such as a building permit review).

Scheduling a pre-application conference
Submit your pre-application conferences request by email to landuseintake@portlandoregon.gov. Conferences are generally scheduled 4-5 weeks in advance of the date of the meeting. Once your application is submitted, a Land Use Services technician will contact you within 3-4 business days with instructions for providing payment for emailed application. Then, a Land Use Services technician will contact you to discuss scheduling a pre-application conferences. Day and time is subject to availability.

Pre-application conference agenda
You may view the Pre-Application Notices to review upcoming pre-application conferences. Conferences are posted 10 days in advance and removed at the end of the day of the conference.
Pre-application conference meeting participants
City agencies, school districts, some state and federal agencies, and neighborhood associations within 1,000 feet of the site will be notified.
Neighbors and other interested parties may attend pre-application conferences. Please note, the primary purpose of the conference is to provide information to the applicant. Neighbors should save questions and comments for the applicant’s meeting with the neighborhood association.
Pre-application conference reports
Within three weeks of the day of the conference, we prepare and mail a summary report to the applicant. Copies of the report are available to interested persons for a fee. Contact Land Use Services staff to request a copy of the report.
