In late September, the Bureau of Development Services rolled out a new reporting system for inspections of both commercial and residential construction projects. Inspection reports now provide customers with information about the results of an inspection (whether approved or not approved) and list any corrections that need to be addressed. The reports may provide other information that is helpful to the customer in completing a project and ensuring it meets applicable codes.
A sample inspection report is illustrated in the images provided.
These updated reports arrive at customers’ email accounts from BDSInspections-noreply@portlandoregon.gov. Customers are encouraged to update their junk email filters to ensure that email from this address does not get lost in spam or junk mail folders.
Current permit customers—both contractors and property owners—can also request copies of their inspection reports by calling the Bureau of Development Services. Customers should be prepared to provide their permit’s IVR number and the email address to which the report should be sent. Residential permit customers can call 503-823-7388. Commercial permit customers can call 503-823-7303.
