Schedule inspections

After a permit has been issued, call or email your FIR inspector to schedule inspections. Do not use the IVR system.

When you request an inspection, provide the following information:

  • Permit Number OR Site Address
  • Type of inspection requested
  • Date and time requested
  • Onsite contact person and phone number

Give your inspector advance notice of 24-48 hours.

Inspectors can accommodate most inspection requests. If your FIR inspector is not available, contact the FIR Main phone at 503-823-6691 or email bdsfirpermits@portlandoregon.gov and another inspector will be assigned.

As a FIR contractor, you are the main point of contact for inspections and must also schedule all inspections for your subcontractors.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled inspection. You will be charged a minimum 1/4 hour charge (15 minutes).

The inspector is en route when an appointment is canceled. You will be charged a minimum of 1/2 hour charge or more depending on distance.

Inspection results

You or your customer can check the status of an inspection result on PortlandMaps. Please allow for up to 24 hours for results to post.
