Since the close of public testimony on the Design Overlay Zone Amendments Proposed Draft on November 15, 2019, the Planning and Sustainability Commission (PSC) and the Design Commission have been discussing the proposals during multiple work sessions.

Each commission is responsible for making a recommendation on distinct aspects of the DOZA proposals:

  • The PSC will make recommendations on zoning code updates.
  • The Design Commission will make recommendations on the Citywide Design Guidelines.

At this point, both commissions have suggested a list of potential updates and code amendments for staff to consider incorporating into the Proposed Draft.

These amendments will be further developed over the next couple months and reviewed with the both commissions in April and May. Their recommendation to City Council will be included in the Recommended Draft, which will be released in Summer 2020.
