This Design Advice Request [DAR] meeting with the Historic Landmarks Commission [HLC] is to seek feedback from the Commission on the required Type 4 Demolition Review Approval Criteria for the removal of the Historic Landmarks Burnside Bridge. Following City Council’s decision on the demolition review [City Council is the Approval Body for the Type 4 Demolition Review], the Applicant will schedule a second DAR with the HLC to consider the details of the proposed new bridge design within the Portland Skidmore/Old Town Historic District (from the seawall, westward) prior to the future required Type III Historic Resource Review application for this section of the proposed bridge.
