Portland Permitting & Development Inspection Limitations policy sets a number of included inspections that are tied to a value range from a project's permit valuation. The policy ensures that customers are being treated equitably in service and support. By setting included inspections based on permit valuation, customers are afforded more inspections based on higher permit cost. This allows for appropriate cost-recovery and incentivizes small valuation projects to complete their work in accordance with the issued permit.

What permit types does this policy apply?

- Residential One and Two Family Permit (RS): For building and final inspections

Inspection limitations specifics
The number of inspections used on a permit is based on site visits made; inspections made on the same day on the same permit will count as one inspection. For permits where the inspection limitations policy is applicable, our IVR system will indicate to the inspection requestor how many included inspections are remaining on the permit.
