ProjectDox manages the permit review workflow and provides an interactive mark-up and communications tool for City reviewers and permit applicants. Customers can now see all mark-ups from all public works review teams in a single location. Applicants and their consulting engineers can view their mark-ups organized by review team, such as Transportation, Environmental Services, Water or Urban Forestry, or in “layers” where multiple reviews can be viewed at the same time.
Comments by reviewers are consolidated into one location instead of through multiple email messages. Customers can download these comments and mark-ups into a spreadsheet to share with other team members if desired. Applicants may also add other team members to ProjectDox to monitor the project’s progress.
“This is another important development in our ongoing permit improvement efforts,” said David Kuhnhausen, interim director of Portland Permitting & Development. “Public works customers can more effectively engage with plan reviewers to resolve concerns and approve projects more quickly.”
Another improvement is that the Concept Submittal Requirements Checklist for public works projects is now online. Customers can use this checklist to create an application. Following this checklist should improve the review processing time by reducing the rate of initial application rejections.
The City of Portland is committed to providing efficient and effective digital solutions for managing permits and development projects. For further updates or questions about this improvement, please contact PPD.ePlans@portlandoregon.gov.
