Step 2: Review options
Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Permit Status | Request Extension | Request Reactivation |
---|---|---|
Active: Permit status is Under Review, Approved to Issue, Issued, or Under Inspection. | X | |
Abandoned: The permit application has not reached Issued status and there has been no activity for 180 days. | X | |
Expired: Permit status is Issued or Under Inspection with no activity for 180 days. | X | |
Void: Permit status is Application for 180 days and fees unpaid - OR - in Expired or Abandoned status for 180 days. | X |
Step 3: Submit request
What happens next?
After you submit a request, you will get an email confirming your permit status.

Policy for reactivation of expired or abandoned permits
At this time, we are not expiring permits. Exception: Projects with approved Land Use (LU) cases must meet specified timelines to retain their LU rights. For more information, please review our land use policy related to expired permits:
