Type III Design Review hearing for a proposal to replace the existing Ida B. Wells High School located in the Hillsdale Plan District with a new approximately 289,500 SF building on the south edge of the site along Vermont Street to accommodate approximately 1,700 students. The project will include redevelopment of the parking areas, athletic fields, field support structures and pathways. The existing swimming pool, operated by Portland Parks & Recreation and all facilities associated with Rieke Elementary School will remain on site. Modifications and adjustments to zoning code standards for setbacks, percentage and location of vehicle areas, amount and location of bicycle parking, height of light poles, number and sizing of signs.
