Need Immediate Shelter Tonight?

City of Portland Overnight Emergency Shelters are now open!  Check out a shelter near you. You can also view shelter locations and real time availability on the Shelter Availability Map.

Call 2‑1‑1 (available 24/7) or visit 211info.org for real‑time shelter openings and transportation assistance from Multnomah County.

Need Immediate Response for Behavioral Health?

Call 9-1-1 and request the Community Health Assess and Treat Team (CHAT) and/or Portland Street Response.  Both teams help to provide assistance and treatment to individuals experiencing crisis.

Wanting to Return Home to Family or Friends?

Sometimes individuals experiencing homelessness want to return home, to be reunited with their family or friends.  The City's Street Services Coordination Center helps to coordinate these reunifications.

If you or someone you know experiencing homelessness is ready to return home, please call 3-1-1 or fill out our Request a City Outreach Form.  Be sure to check the box on the form requesting reunification.

  • Rose Haven – Safe day shelter and support for women, children, transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive individuals.

  • New Avenues for Youth - Food, clothing, hygiene items and bus tickets; employment and education assistance; referrals to housing, crisis support and health care.
  • Outside In - Meals, recreation/activities, showers, laundry, phone, mailing address, and computers for youth age 16-24.
