GUIDE SIGNS DENOTING NEIGHBORHOOD OR BUSINESS ASSOCIATION BOUNDARIES
Administrative Rule Adopted by Bureau of Transportation System Management
Guide signs denoting boundaries for recognized Neighborhood or Business Association boundaries shall be requested from the Bureau of Transportation System Management. Association guide signs will be designed and installed by the City under the authority of the City Traffic Engineer according to City specifications. All signs approved by the City Traffic Engineer under these rules will be installed within City public right-of-way and will be the property of the City.
Design of guide signs for associations will be limited to the text name (for example: "Welcome to Montavilla") and a logo or graphic that is associated with the area. No other text message will be included. The signs will be designed with white lettering on a green background. The logo or graphic may incorporate other colors.
An applicant must make a request to the Bureau of Transportation System Management for the design and installation of signs. The applicant is responsible for payment to the City for the actual costs of design and installation. The City may provide minor maintenance of the guide signs. Major maintenance or replacement of the signs will be done at the request and expense of the Association. The City Traffic Engineer at his or her sole discretion may remove the guide sign.
