REVIEWING CITIZENS REQUESTS FOR PARK IMPROVEMENTS
Administrative Rule Adopted by Portland Parks & Recreation Pursuant to Rule-Making Authority
ARB-PRK-3.04

Purpose:
To establish a mechanism for timely review and dispensation of citizen requests for park improvements.

When a citizen suggests a park improvement with the expectation that the City fund the improvement, the following policy applies:
  • All suggestions shall be submitted in writing to Portland Parks & Recreation, Planning & Development Division, 1120 SW Fifth Ave. Rm 1302, Portland, OR 97204.
  • Suggestion will be screened to determine if it addresses an immediate hazard in a park or park facility. If a hazard does exists, PP&R Operation’s staff will be contacted in order to make the situation safe.
  • Requests that do not address an immediate safety concern will be documented in the relevant parks and facilities site file for consideration as part of future park improvements or master planning efforts and may also be incorporated into future Capital Improvement Plans as appropriate.
PP&R staff will respond to all citizen requests in writing within 30 days to inform the citizen of any actions taken.
