LABOR AGREEMENT - LIUNA LOCAL 483 - PARKING METER TECHNICIAN PAY RATE

PURPOSE

Section 1.  The Council finds:

1. Representatives of the City and Laborers' Local 483 have signed a Tentative Agreement that outlines adjusted wages for the Parking Meter Technician and Parking Meter Technician Lead classifications.

2. The Agreement meets the City's interest by securing changes intended to improve the Bureau's ability to recruit and retain qualified staff and to maintain internal classification comparison equity.

3. Except as modified by the specific provisions of the Tentative Agreement, all other terms and conditions remain as provided in the 2006-2010 Collective Bargaining Agreement.


POLICY

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:

a. The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to execute a Letter of Agreement between the City, Laborer's Local 483, and the District Council of Trade Unions modifying the parties' labor agreement as to wages for certain represented employees.

b. Said Letter of Agreement to conform to the provisions in the Tentative Agreement attached to this Ordinance Marked Exhibit "A" which by this reference is made a part hereof.

c. This ordinance is a binding City Policy.

Section 2.  The Council declares that an emergency exists in order that this compensation action may occur without delay; therefore, this ordinance shall be in force and effect from after its passage by the Council.
