LABOR AGREEMENT - DISTRICT COUNCIL OF TRADE UNIONS - CERTAIN REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES IN WATER BUREAU

PURPOSE
Section 1. The Council finds:
1. Representatives of the City and the DCTU have signed a Tentative Agreement that outlines changes in the terms and conditions of employment for certain represented employees
2. The Agreement meets the City’s interest by securing changes intended to improve the Bureau’s ability to recruit and retain qualified staff
3. Except as modified by the specific provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement, all other terms and conditions remain as provided in the 2006-2010
POLICY
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council directs:
a. The Mayor and Auditor are authorized to execute a labor agreement between the City and DCTU relating to terms and conditions of employment for certain represented employees.
b. Said contract to conform to the provisions in the Tentative Agreement attached to this Ordinance Marked Exhibit “A” which by this reference is made a part hereof
c. This ordinance is a binding City Policy
Section 2. The Council declares that an emergency exists because delay would unnecessarily impede the orderly implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement, therefore this ordinance shall be in force and effective from after it’s passage by the Council
