Allow processing time of six to eight weeks after receipt for online requests; 16 weeks for written requests.
Be advised that most public records requests require payment; see the fee schedule. If you are a victim of a crime, you may obtain a free copy of the police report.
Additional public interest and financial fee waivers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Your fee waiver request will be reviewed based on the answers to the questions sent to you after you have submitted your public records request.
If you have made your public records request online through the Portland Public Records Request Center, you may check the status of your request on the website.
You may also request a police record by phone, or by coming in person to Central Precinct.
