Two Years Later, Double Homicide at Boat Ramp Remains Under Investigation

The Portland Police Bureau continues to seek information about a 2024 shooting that left two people deceased at a Northeast Portland boat ramp, and detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

On Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 7:50 p.m., North Precinct and Focused Intervention Team officers responded to a report of shots heard at the M. James Gleason Memorial Boat Ramp at 4325 Northeast Marine Drive. When officers arrived, they located two males deceased at the scene. 

The suspect or suspects left the scene before police were called and no immediate arrests were made. 

The two people killed were J'Meire Asher, 18, of Portland, and Deangelo Augustus, 38, of Salem. The Medical Examiner determined Asher and Augustus died of homicide by gunshot wound.
