On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct contacted a man who reported he had been robbed at gunpoint about two hours earlier while unloading groceries outside his residence in the 15000 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard. Officers determined that two suspects stole groceries from the victim's vehicle. When confronted, they attempted to flee, leading to a physical confrontation during which the male suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim. A female suspect also attempted to steal the victim's vehicle but was unsuccessful. The victim recovered the stolen property before the suspects fled the area. The male victim was later transported to a hospital for evaluation.
PPB's Major Crimes Team assumed the investigation and identified a suspect and suspect vehicle. In addition, detectives obtained arrest and search warrants.
