PPB Seeks Public Assistance to Help Locate Missing Endangered Man

A missing man who is considered endangered has not been seen since Thursday morning at 6:00, and PPB is asking for the public to call if anyone knows where he is.

On Thursday, July 2, 2026 at about 6:00 a.m., Kenneth L. Jeffries, 81, of Portland, left the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center at 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd. He had a bus pass with him but it's unclear if he got on a bus.

He did not return home and efforts to locate him have so far been unsuccessful. Kenneth Jeffries suffers from symptoms of dementia and may be lost, increasing the level of concern for his safety and welfare.

Kenneth is an 81-year-old Caucasian male, 5'8" in height, 135 lbs., with gray hair, blue eyes, and a medium beard. Kenneth was believed to have his ID with him and may ask for help getting home. Kenneth was last seen wearing a blue t-shirt under a North Face zip-up sweatshirt, and black pants with duct tape on the knees.

If anyone sees Kenneth or has information about where he is now, call 911. If anyone has non-time sensitive information about this case, e-mail missing@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference case number 26-191739.
