The man who died in a crash in the Kerns Neighborhood is being identified.

The motorcyclist who was killed this crash that occurred on East Burnside Street at Northeast 24th Avenue is Jacob A. Jones, 32, of Portland. No further information will be released at this time.

On Monday, July 13th, 2026 at 9:12 p.m. Central Precinct officers were dispatched to a crash on East Burnside Street at Northeast 24th Avenue. The motorcyclist did not survive their injuries. The other involved driver remained on scene.
The Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. The investigation is ongoing and a cause is not being released at this time.
East Burnside Street is closed between Northeast 22nd Avenue and Northeast 26th Avenue to all traffic. It will likely remain closed for several hours during the investigation.
