The man killed in the Hazelwood Neighborhood on June 2, 2026, has been identified as Victor H. Leon, 43, of Portland. Leon's family has been notified of his death. They are requesting privacy at this time. 

The Medical Examiner determined Leon died of homicide by gunshot wound. 

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the case is urged to submit a tip.

Homicide Investigation Underway in Hazelwood Neighborhood

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 4:07 a.m., a Portland Police officer spotted an adult male laying on the ground at Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Pine Street.

While attempting medical aid, medical personnel pronounced the male deceased with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Detectives with the Portland Police Homicide Unit are responding to investigate.

During the investigation, Southeast 122nd Avenue will be shut down between East Burnside Street and Southeast Ash Street.
